Step 1: Contacting your home instituion to request for approval
Exchange student remain enrolled and continue to pay tuition fees to their home institution. Students do not pay tuition fees to University of Science, VNU Hochiminh city
Step 2: Admission criteria
To be accepted for the Exchange Program, you must meet specific (Academic and English language requirements):
- Complete at least one year or full-time study for bachelor level.
- Acheive GPA at least at 2.0 on a 4.0 U.S grading slae or equivalent
- Have a letter of nomination from the home institution as required for exchange students
- English proficiency requirement
Note: No English prodiciency assessment is required for students who live in English-speaking country or study in a teriary institution where the language of instruction is English.
If you are not from an English-speaking country or if the language of instruction at your institution is not English, one of the following requirements is applied (please be aware that IELTS or TOEFL test results are only valid for 2 years.
- IELTS minimum overal band score of 5.5
- TOEFL (PBT) minimum score of 500
- TOEFL (IBT) minimum score of 40
- Univert 1 (Certificated by German Academic Exchange Service - DAAD)
- CEFR Level B1 (Common European framework of Reference's English Certificate)
Step 3: Completing Application form
- Applying through your home institution (if your home institution has a formal "Exchange partner agreement" with University of Science)
- Applying directly to the University of Science:

Step 4: Choosing courses
Select your study period based on the months you would like to travel to Vietnam

Step 5: Submitting application with supporting documents

Application deadline:
- 01 July for Semester 1 (September - February)
- 02 January for Semester 2 (March - August)
Supporting documents:
All student will be asked to provide the following supporting documents when submitting an application:
- A letter of nomination from your home institution
- An official transcript
- An evidence of English Proficiency
- A copy of information page of passport.
All documents should be certified and translated into English.
Step 6: Accepting your Offer
We aim to access your application with in 20 working days provided all of the requiment supporting documents is supplied. If you are accepted an offer of admission will be forwarded ellectrically to you.
